Terms & Conditions
In these conditions Hunters Brook Ltd is referred to as “the Company” and the person signing the contract is referred to as “the Customer”.
1. Product Guarantee
The products are guaranteed for 3 years on parts and 1 year on labour. The guarantee is not transferable.
The guarantee comes into effect immediately the installation has been completed, provided that the full price has been paid. The guarantee is void if the full price is not paid on the due date.
2. Appliances, Sinks and Taps
Electric or gas appliances, sink tops and taps are subject to the manufacturer’s own after‑sales service and guarantee.
3. Fixing to Walls
The Company cannot accept liability if, because of the nature of the construction of your wall, furniture cannot be fixed to the wall in the usual way (i.e. by plugs and screws).
4. Fitting Date
Your order is scheduled for fitting on the date shown on the contract. The Company will endeavour to give you an alternative date as quickly as possible after that date, provided you give at least two weeks’ notice that the original date is inconvenient.
5. Completion of Work and Delays
The work detailed in the contract shall be completed at the expiration of any period therein mentioned, or if no period is mentioned, within a reasonable time.
However, the Company shall not be liable for any delay in completion if such delay arises due to:
- Shortage of materials
- Any strike, lock‑out or combination of workmen
- Cessation or restriction of work by workmen of the Company or any other person, firm or company
- Any event which stops, restricts or delays the supply of materials to the Company
- Accidents or any other cause whatsoever, whether or not similar to the above, that is not within the control of the Company
6. Uneven Walls
The edge of the carcase units cannot be scribed into the line of the wall if the surface is uneven or out of plumb, but will be fixed as close as possible to the wall.
7. Entire Agreement and Variations
All terms of the contract between the Company and the Customer are contained in the contract document. No variation of the contract shall bind either party unless such variation is made in writing by the party to be bound.
8. Payments
8.1 Deposit
Payment of the deposit specified in the contract may be made either in cash or by Bank Transfer. The Customer must retain a copy of the contract with the payment indicated and receipted by the accredited agent or representative of the Company.

8.2 Delivery Balance
Payment of the Delivery Balance specified in the contract shall be due on delivery of the items listed in the schedule. If more than one delivery is required, payment shall be due on the first such delivery.
Payment shall be either in cash or by Bank Transfer payable to the order of the Company.

8.3 Completion Balance
Payment of the Completion Balance is due on satisfactory completion of installation. Payment shall be either in cash or by Bank Transfer payable to the order of the Company.

9. Access to Premises
The Customer will give access to the premises to the Company, its servants and workmen at all reasonable times so that the Company may complete the installation in accordance with the contract.
10. Specification Changes
The Company reserves the right to change or alter the specifications of its furniture and fittings at any time without prior notice, provided that such alterations shall not substantially diminish the value of the furniture and fittings ordered.
11. Private Loans and Late Payment
Where the Customer is to obtain a private loan (e.g. Building Society further advance or Bank Loan), the Customer must make their own arrangements for the payment of the balance due to be paid on delivery.
Failure to comply with payment of the balance on delivery and completion will invalidate the guarantee and entitle the Company to charge interest on the amount outstanding at the rate of 7% compounded interest above the Bank Base Rate.
12. Scope of Work
No work or materials other than those set out in the schedule will be supplied.
13. Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the contract being requested by the Customer and the Company accepting the cancellation, the following charges will be made:
- i) Administration charges: £100.00
- ii) If manufacture of the goods ordered has started, a charge of 50% of the contract value will be made
- iii) If manufacture of material for installation is completed, the Company will charge 85% of the contract price
14. Ownership of Goods
All goods remain the property of Hunters Brook Ltd until payment has been received in full.
